About the ConferenceIn 1974 a group of scientists and concerned citizens from Sul Ross State University founded the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute (CDRI) to promote public awareness, appreciation, and concern for the natural diversity of the Chihuahuan Desert through research and education. Every five years, the CDRI hosts a symposium on the natural resources of the Chihuahuan Desert. The goal of the symposium is to bring together researchers, students, landmanagers, educators, and the general public to exchange ideas, provide updates on current research, and share future research and management needs. Three concurrent sessions featuring 15-minute presentations, poster sessions, workshops, and special sessions will be offered during the two days of the symposium. An informal barbeque at the CDRI's Nature Center and Botanical Gardens as well as a social on Thursday night (October 14) will provide participants an opportunity to visit. Session Topics
