Student Paper and Poster Awards

The best student paper and the best student poster will be recognized at the meeting.

Awards will consist of:

An award certificate.

A $250 cash prize for the best student paper.

A$250 cash prize for the best student poster.

A one-year membership to the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute.

All available CDRI symposium proceedings.


Papers or posters may be coauthored by the major professor, but the work presented must primarily be that of the student. The student must also give the presentation.

A panel of judges will select the winners based on the quality of the presentations and the significance of the results.

To be considered for either of the student awards, the submitted abstract must clearly state "Student Competition" on the line indicating whether the abstract is an oral or poster presentation.
