Botanical Gardens

Wildscape Garden: Sit back in a rocking chair on our front porch at the Powell Visitor Center, and enjoy a variety of birds, lizards, butterflies and bees throughout the landscape.

Trans Pecos Natives garden path: The main path in the garden, a self-guided stroll features nearly 165 species of Trans-Pecos Region native plants, grouped by plant family and individually labeled. (0.5 mile loop)

Pollinator Garden Trail: A short spur off the main path which features the Pollinator Garden,   an easy walk over a large rock outcropping to a breathtaking overlook, and the Scenic Vista Loop Trail which wraps around the base of the rock formation.(0.25 mile loop around the rocky outcrop)

Cactus Museum Collection: A must see, one of the world's largest collections of Chihuahuan Desert cacti, with ~200 species, sub-species and varieties of cacti and succulents.

Memorial Grove: A nice contemplation site among Chinkapin oaks and wild roses that shelter the memories of CDRI friends.
