Come visit the Nature Center! Explore over five miles of hiking trails, from a riparian canyon containing a natural spring, to a hilltop Overlook and Geology Exhibit which provides miles of breathtaking scenery.
​Stroll through the Botanical Gardens to the Cactus & Succulent Greenhouse which houses one of the world's largest Chihuahuan Desert cactus collections, discover the 1880's replica Happy Jack Mine at the Mining Heritage Exhibit, or see who's flown in at the Bird Blind with its solar powered 30-foot long water feature.

Know Before You Go: ​

  • Please read and understand CDRI's Release & Indemnity.​​​​
  • Wear appropriate, sturdy shoes for your activities. 
  • Take a hat, a walking stick, and sunscreen. 
  • ​Take plenty of water. 
  • Remain on trails and paths while hiking and visiting the Botanical Garden. Our trails include uneven terrain and loose rocks in places. 
  • Our elevation is a mile above sea level. Take your time; rest if you need to. 
  • Our site is home to poisonous plants and venomous animals. Keep your hands and feet where you can see them.
